Area 1: A centre for patient evaluation and multidisciplinary care

Collaboration between reference teams for the benefit of patients and their families

The FHU-TRANSLAD evaluation and treatment centre is made up of several reference and resource centres comprised of multidisciplinary teams with doctors and paramedical personnel (neuropsychologists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social workers):

  • The CLAD-Est, a rare diseases reference centre for “Developmental disorders and deformity syndromes” in the Est region
  • The DéfI-Bourgogne centre, a rare diseases reference centre for “Intellectual Disabilities from rare causes”
  • The MAGEC Mosaïque centre, a rare diseases reference centre for “Genetic Diseases with Cutaneous Expression”, Dijon location
  • The Bourgogne and Franche-Comté autism resource centres
  • The Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Language and Learning Disorders referral centres

These centres offer evaluations and multidisciplinary treatment to patients from childhood to adulthood.

Centres for patient evaluation and multidisciplinary treatment

Evaluating and identifying the genetic cause of an embryonic developmental abnormality and/or an intellectual disability, based on a better understanding of the natural history and the progressive prognosis, results in optimised management and supervision of patient and family.

  • Diagnosing and identifying the genetic cause of rare developmental disorder diseases
  • Coordinating the follow-up of patients with these rare diseases
  • Recommending consultations with specialist doctors trained in the specifics of these rare diseases
  • Expanding therapeutic education in rare diseases
  • Attending to families affected by these rare diseases
  • Setting up a genetics helpdesk for patients and their families

Special attention to the quality of healthcare

At the request of the teams, the Dijon University Hospital Quality Unit conducted an audit of the genetics centre according to the patient-tracking method in order to improve its practices and in so doing, better address the needs of families. To find out more
