The Franche-Comté LLD Referral Centre, the DysEpi network and the children's Disability Unit

What are the Learning and Language Disorder Reference Centre, the DysEpi network and the children's Disability Unit ?

The Regional Reference Centre for Specific Childhood and Adolescent Learning and Language Disorders, set up in July 2003, at the same time as the Language network, is a diagnostic and treatment coordination centre for children suspected of having intellectual disability issues. Since December 2005, the network has been known as DysEpi (Dys: specific language learning disorders, and Epi: epilepsy) to provide a technical support centre for use by epileptics, with expansion of its resources by the ARS (regional health authority). This plan was completed, by the establishment in 2007 of the Children's Disability Unit, for the diagnosis and treatment of children with motor disability, with or without associated disorders. This organisation is made up of a multidisciplinary team.
The three units are very closely networked with the paediatric departments in the Franche-Comté region, the Besançon University Hospital Paediatric EEG unit, the psychiatry inter-sector, small and medium-sized businesses, day nurseries and schools. The freelance practitioners or professionals in the medico-social sector (CAMSP (centre for early medico-social action), CMPP (medical-psychological-pedagogical centre), SESSAD (special education and home-schooling department), IME (medico-educational institutes)) are key players.

What are the procedures for getting an evaluation by the DysEpi team ?

To get an evaluation, please contact our administrative office, where you will be advised of the correct procedures to follow, depending on the health condition.
