Why the need for a training and genomics information referral centre for hereditary diseases ?
France has been slow in applying high-throughput technologies to its research, particularly in the area of rare disease diagnosis. For several years now, FHU-TRANSLAD has stood out as one of the country's leaders by sharing this new technology with professionals all over France, by way of training, in order to facilitate the introduction of this technology into all laboratories engaged in research and molecular genetics diagnosis, as well as by providing information to a wider audience.
A wide audience
New technologies are increasingly making a name for themselves in genetic health care practice. However, no support materials have been put in place for explaining these technologies to patients and their families. Consequently, FHU-TRANSLAD is developing teaching and popularisation tools specific to the new technologies,, and these will serve as explanatory support materials during consultations, and for students and the general public. FHU offers training or tools for professionals, students, patients and their families, as well as the public at large.
