Influenced by the associations of families affected by genetic diseases, has taken on a project to introduce genetics to children, starting at the primary level, with the idea of familiarising them at a very early age with the concept of genetic disability in order to make it easier for children affected by these pathologies to assimilate into society. These classroom sessions are designed to be highly interactive, involve the use of visual aids, and most importantly a question-and-answer game. The concept for the film grew out of these get-togethers with Year 2 to Year 6 children. As it is not possible to work with all of the classes, an educational game serving as a conversational aid, was conceptualised to take children on a voyage to the Land of Genetics, on a dive into the human body to help them grasp concepts about genetics and to stimulate their curiosity and in so doing inspire more active involvement by these young budding scientists. This is to encourage an open-minded approach and to fire up enthusiasm for an area not yet fully explored, and where there are so many things to be discovered: genetics!
